I'm going to make an executive decision and shorten the time to 3 hours (from 6) from pick 3.1 onwards. The overnight clock will remain 10 hours to make sure no one is skipped while they sleep. Should help get this things wrapped up.

But if the clock resumes at 6am eastern time then people on the west coast might have to make a decision by 6am our time, that's pretty early for many of us. am I missing something?

Casey says to skip him for now. Carter I see your concern, but this can be avoided by checking the status before night. There will be a handful of skipped picks I'm sure, a natural consequence of switching to a 3 hour clock. The talent remaining is super flat so I don't think it will be a big impact

The talent remaining is super flat so I don't think it will be a big impact If I realize I'm next up to be otc at midnight my time (west coast), and the picker ahead of me is an east coaster and wakes up early and picks right at 6 eastern or before, I would be on the clock from 3 am my time, until 6 am my time That's ridiculous Wouldn't happen most times but it does seem to be surprisingly common that it falls that way, that I'm up late hoping to be on otc so I can pick instead of sleeping through when I'm up to pick Please reconsider an alternative. Either keeping the 6 hour timer or extending the overnight stoppage. I do still have targets I would like to add in this draft, and my farm is not exactly loaded.

Phillies select Sam Delaplane, RHP, SEA with pick 3.3
Tough decision, as there are many younger prospects I really like here but until I can acquire more picks, I need to consider my MLB-ready roster and a potential high-leverage arm is a dire need of mine, a position I hate to pay for in free agency. And since Ljay Newsome was a 1st rounder, I didn't want to take a chance on Delaplane sliding to the 4th.
Will email next, since I'm actually on the computer tonight.

Most of the time I'm up by 4 -5 am for work here on the west coast also. But my first minutes of the morning I sure as hell am not looking at the league stuff. I'm driving to work in crappy ass traffic. I only have my 3rd left for this draft this time but that's still not a good idea for us west coasters I feel!

The talent remaining is super flat so I don't think it will be a big impact I know the West Coast guys have expressed their concern, to which I think is valid. But in addition to them, personally, I am surprised every year by the talent left in the middle rounds in this draft. I would still like a 6-hour window at least through the 3rd, but if the decision is to go with 3, so be it - just saying, I wouldn't mind sticking with 6 for at least another round. Also gives more time to try and work trades.

Okay I've got no qualms keeping the 6 hour clock for now. Thank you all for the feedback! Are we on a 3 hour clock or a 6 hour clock? My last pick was skipped after 3 hours but thought from the quoted message we were going to stick with a 6 hour clock. No problem either way, but I'd like to have a good understanding going forward.
Thanks, Mike

Sorry for the confusion Mike - 6 hour clock for now I made a mistake due to my confusion about the pick clock. I had a discussion in progress about trading my last pick with another team. When I saw that I was skipped and the next team had made it's pick (not Robin's fault, the page showed me as skipped) I made a pick so that I didn't lose the slot. In hindsight I should have asked for clarification at that point before making a pick. I feel like I slighted the other owner that I was in a trade discussion with, and rushed to make a pick due to confusion in the pick clock conversation and the page showing my pick as skipped.
The lack of certainty and rush to pick without clarification were errors on my part. My request is that changes like this be handled with advance notification so that no one is caught off guard in the future.
Thanks, Mike

Yeah my bad. I did give advance notice in draft threads that the pick clock would shorten at some point but I should have given more concrete timing. But honestly at this point it is anyone's guess which of these prospects will actually pan out, so I don't see one guy as any more likely than the next to pan out.
Starting with pick 4.1 we will officially transition to a 3 hour clock with a 12 hour overnight pick (clock stops between 0000 and 0900 EST).
