San Fransisco trades Felipe Rivero $6,720,000
Cleveland trades prospects Grant Holmes, Nolan Jones, Bobby Bradley
My reasoning is again to clear cap and roster space.

Confirmed trade. I made this trade for a couple reasons. First I needed to upgrade my relief pitching. Second I am very high on Rivera. I believe he will be a top 5 closer for years to come. Also his contract is very reasonable if he provides that type of productuon. Losing bradley and Jones hurts. But I'm looking for production right now.

+5 CLE, At first glance this looks like an overpay, but if you dig into the trade it makes sense. Rivera is an affordable closer, and I guess three prospects is the going rate. Nolan Jones hurts but he is far from the bigs. Good trade!

I actually say +5 SF cause philosophically I'd rather not give up that much for any reliever, but I get it that closers don’t grow on trees in a league this size. Good baseball trade though.

+5 SF. Jones and Bradley are really good pieces to forecast on in this format, Jones is an OBP monster. On top of that Bradley K'd 7 percent less last year while facing better pitching but not sacrificing power and maintaining his eye there's still always the possibility that he's more Chris Carter then Anthony Rizzo, but he's still worth taking a chance on. Rivera is on a good contract and is affordable, but is a reliever, so getting 2 specs of this caliber plus Holmes is a nice haul.

+10 Giants
I like Rivero a lot - he had closer written all over him since he was with the Nats. Plus, his contract is a good one for a good closer.
While Jones is far away, I think he's got great potential to be a star player. Bradley, on the other hand, I'm not optimistic about - but his power is legit and at the very least would make a good bargaining chip. Holmes is the wild card - but I think he's severely underrated after a down season and expect him to get back into, or very near, the top-100 this season.
Long term outlook for Jones and Holmes - in my opinion - are why I give Giants the edge overall. Rivero looks great but only put it all together last season, so there's still some risk with him.

Even.
Both teams meet their objectives. While 3 prospects for an RP seems silly on the surface, Rivero at that contract for prospects that still need seasoning makes total sense to me. I'm actually leaning more +1 Indians.

I just found an issue with Cleveland being over salary on account of this trade. Both teams have been asked to resolve.

To resolve the salary cap issue Cleveland will send a 4th round Amateur Draft pick to the Giants. Giants will retain $2,000,000 of Rivera's contract.
