CHC sends: Eric Fedde, P, WAS Jorge Lopez, P, MIL Chris DeVito, 1B, KC 4.23 AMAT pick (acquired from WAS)
BOS sends: Paul DeJong, SS, STL
This gives me an equally-talented replacement for Marcus Semien at SS if injury or poor performance strike again. Adding young, controllable MI depth has been one of my main efforts so far and I think it's been a philosophy that has paid dividends between Happ, Taylor, Semien, and now DeJong (and hopefully soon in Shed Long).
Giving up Fedde was not easy to do as I still think he is likely a mid-rotation arm (which my rotation certainly needs) but I don't see him contributing as frequently in 2018 as DeJong. Hopefully DeJong doesn't go full Aledmys Diaz on me. Chris Devito has monster power but tons of concerns about the defense and to a lesser extent hit tool, but he is a prospect who will be underrated for fantasy. He was the last player included during the negotiations and a pretty shrewd request by Phillip IMO.

SO on this deal I had 3 SS so I was able to trade one of them. So what I was looking in return for was some youth and depth. I think Fedde will be mid rotation in a year and Lopez could be a back end pitcher to mid maybe or a solid RP. As for DiVito he is a power bat with lot up side he is still a couple years away but when he gets there he should be a 20 HR guy and for his D he could move to DH if for the Royals or any American League Team. Plus I did get a pick I can use on a guy.

+10 Cubs. Personally I think it's a bit of a meh-ish return for DeJong after his breakout (granted the low OBP could see some regression, though his contract is good regardless) but prospect grading's all about what you think of them. Fedde and the AMAT pick are okay but nothing that would move the needle for me.

+5 Cubs. At first I thought this might be a steal for the Cubs as DeJong had a nice breakout season. Digging into his numbers a bit it seems like a regression may be coming. Although I think he has top 10 SS potential still. I agree with Hasan that this seems like an unexciting return for a middle infielder with such a high upside. Two possible back end rotation pitchers (if your lucky in my opinion) and a 1b work in progress seems a bit low. But I guess DeJong is a bit of a gamble

Update - not realizing I had already traded pick 4.21 to CHW, this deal will instead include pick 4.23 (which CHC acquired from WAS in a previous trade) going to BOS
