Trade is good for the Rockies as they add a nice prospect in Gordon and a couple of pitching prospects, while giving up young contract friendly guys that are not sure things.

I trade SS Gordon for a solid young catching prospect who could be ok down the road at Coors Field. I pick up a cheap, somewhat average arm in Bridwell while losing pitching prospects in Jay (who I have kinda given up on) and Troop (who i loved his K/9 ration). In return for losing Troop, I get a 7th rd AMAT pick and lose the Phil Hughes contract ($2 mil).

+10 COL
MIN acquires another seen better days C prospect. Jay has soured but I think he has more value then as a throw in, he should be a good fast moving reliever. Gordon, well Gordon won't hurt you but won't help you either. It makes sense to package those pieces to take a risk I guess, I just don't think Murphy is a risk worth taking. It doesn't look like the Rockies think so either. He's had 3 years to win the starting job from the likes of Hundley, Wolters a struggling and injured Lucroy, and now Ianetta, but looks further away then he did 3 years ago. Catchers are weird and maybe he figures it out in his age 27 season.

+10 COL - I think Gordon is the best prospect in the deal
Trade processed in spreadsheets and Fantrax.
COL needs to waive or promote minor leaguers in order to comply with the 60-man roster limit
