MIN sends Dylan Cease, 2024 5th round MiLFA 2023
CHC sends Cade Cavalli, P, WAS Ricky Vanasco, P, TEX Jackson Rutledge, P, WAS
3 years of a high upside if relatively unproven starter for a top SP prospect, close to the majors, plus two upside arms that aren't as long of a shot to provide value as most would think. I think I'm convincing myself that this is a win for MIN but I can't let off the gas in the annual arms race in the JBL NL.

Minnesota accepts. Getting a top tier pitching prospect and a couple others I like was worth the pick and player. I really liked Cease but my team isn't quite ready to go for the ship, and Curtis is so it's a win win. Oh wait +5 Minnesota, cause why not.

+5 Minnesota because I really like Cavalli. Actually this is a great trade for both parties all the way around. Just have to give the edge to Minnesota here for sure. Some nice acquisitions for their competing years down the road.

Even I think?
This is a great trade. I can see taking the more sure thing in a current starter, Cease, but I also love the upside in these prospects, especially Cavalli.
