I would hope so cause honestly I'm not sure there'll be 24 picks let alone 72 lol. I have trouble finding six guys I'd want to pick. Then again I was surprised at some of the guys who did get protected although if you have cap space and roster room it doesn't really hurt to keep a single-A guy.

That's generally the way the real rule V works anyway, if you pass on a selection you don't get any picks the rest of the draft.

At first I thought you were REALLY stretching it by saying 30. But after looking through the list, there is definitely some good depth in this group.

There are plenty of guys with some potential but being you have to play one for 2.5 months in your active lineup to retain them it limits the value of picking some guy in AA who isn’t sniffing the majors this year if you’re in win now mode. OTOH if you are rebuilding you could come up with a nice haul.

Arguably I should be rebuilding but with the super long term deals I have any tear down would be messy at this point.

You guys are right. At the end of the season, if the player hasn't met the 10 week requirement, he is offered back to his original team who can then choose whether or not to take him back or not. If they decline, the new team can keep him without penalty.
