San Fransisco trades Austin Barnes and Teoscar Hernandez for Joaquin Benoit and a 2nd MIFLA pick from Detroit
I like this trade as I get some space on my roster and a serviceable reliever. It hurts to give up the infield depth, but someone had to go in order to make space for the upcoming Rule V Draft.

Detroit agrees, Austin Barnes will probably never be a big contributor in this league's format, but he does simply serve as depth in multiple possessions, and Teoscar Hernandez will be given a shot this year to be a starting outfield and he shows some promise. Deal made sense and benoit wasn't involved in my future plans.

+20 Tigers. I really like those hitters, especially for what the Tigers had to give up to get them.

Yeah I’d even go further and say +35 Tigers, just don’t really see the upside for the Giants. Hernandez > a high 2 in the MILB Draft, and Benoit is basically a dime a dozen middle reliever on his last legs at this point (if he even gets signed) while Barnes is useful depth.

+15 Tigers for Barnes alone I disagree on him not being a contributor, a walking catcher is fantastic value especially if they actually do have him play more infield to get at bats. I think the pick is enough with a playable reliever to justify it I think, I'm just abnormally high on Barnes, but I'm abnormally low on Hernandez so it makes up for it lol.

+30 Tigers
Barnes not only walks, he doesn't really strike out, puts the ball in play, can play the infield to get into the lineup for ABs, and oh yeah...he's probably the #1 catcher going into 2018. Grandal's being shopped and Barnes started virtually every postseason game for them. And Hernandez, I feel, is still an excellent prospect - his star starting rising as an Astro prospect, hit a bump in the road, then regained form and showed well for the Jays. I like Hernandez's hit tool, he'll never be a 30-homer outfielder, but the kid could be a consistent .300/15/80 type guy - very useful as a 3rd outfielder in deep leagues.
Benoit's not the worst reliever to trade for but he's not exactly a dynasty asset at 55 years old (I'm too lazy to look up his exact age right now) and has already had his best years, by far. The 2nd rounder in the MiLBFA draft isn't bad at all, but I'd take either Barnes or Teoscar over that pick any day (assuming I did my draft prep correctly for this league).
A lot of upside with low to moderate risk for Tigers. Extremely limited upside with a good bit of risk for Giants.
