Tampa Bay deals: MiLB P Yohander Mendez MiLB OF Conner Uselton 2B Brett Lawrie $3,500,000 (2019) RP Johnathan Broxton $1,750,000 (2019) MiLB pick 4.6
Mets deal: OF Avisail Garcia $6,700,000 (2019) MiLB pick 6.8 AMAT pick 10.8
I wanted another OF'er and needed one that wouldn't cost me a lot monetarily, Garcia fit that bill with both a pretty decent value on his two years, and the fact I further offset it by giving up the deals of Lawrie and Broxton. Even if Lawrie comes back this year he'll likely be a bit player so it probably wouldn't hurt me to lose him with my IF depth while the Mets have more than enough cap space to absorb him and Broxton is likely to retire, so his salary shouldn't hurt the Mets long-term anyway.
In return I give up two prospects I do like, Mendez who I inherited and Uselton who I drafted in the AMAT draft a few months ago. Uselton might have the higher upside though Mendez is a lot closer to the majors, but it's not easy to find available starting OF'ers in this league so felt the two prospects plus a pick downgrade in the middle-late rounds of the MiLB draft was worth having Garcia for two years and only taking on about $1.5 million in salary after shedding the two deals. Plus I still keep my top prospect in Sanchez who'll hopefully replace Garcia after his deal is up, along with my top two picks this year.

Last year I decided to blow it up because I didn't like the makeup of my team. As a result, my team probably won't be competitive for the next season or two so there is no need for me to hold onto Avisail who's contract is up after 2019. Since he had his best season this past year and has more than one year left on his contract, his value is probably at its highest right now.
I was hoping to draft Uselton in the AMAT draft, but he didn't fall as far as I was hoping he would. He's far from the majors, but he's a promising talent. Mendez is close to the majors, and hopefully he breaks through in the next year or two. My primary goal was to add more young talent to my team, and I believe this trade accomplishes that. I don't mind taking on Lawrie and Broxton because I have gobs of cap space. Besides, if either of them do come back, I can flip them for a couple extra cheap assets.

+5 Mets
Getting the higher pick and two decent prospects while saving a little money for a rebuilding team - good moves.
I only +5 Mets side because I don't trust Avisail just yet BUT having a breakout year at age 26 is good timing. If he keeps getting on base and wrapping XBHs, then this would probably swing way more in favor of Rays in the +25 range, since I don't see Mendez as more than a good reliever/swingman and Uselton a 3rd/4th outfielder.
