PHI receives: MiLB pick 2.14 TEX receives: Jesus Aguilar and Charlie Neuweiler
Why Texas accepted this trade: I need a first basemen of any type right now. I don't have one on the roster and Aguilar had an .830 OPS last year. It was a breakthrough season for him, so I'm taking a risk he can continue that success. Charlie is a 19 YO who had initial success in rookie ball last year. It's a flyer for me since I gave up my flyer.
Good doing business!!!

Agreed...thanks for the deal.
Phillies reasoning:
While I like Aguilar, I have several MLB 1B on my roster, so moving Aguilar likely won't hurt me much since it'll be hard for me to find a spot to play him assuming my other 1B play as expected. Plus, it frees up an MLB roster spot for free agency.
I'm still acquiring picks if the deal makes sense for me. This one does.
I hesitated when asked for Neuweiler because I like his potential, he's only 19, good character, etc etc...but since he's so far off, and the cost would've been to drop 24 spots in the draft, I agreed to let him go.

+5 Rangers. Aguilar isn't an impact bat, but I'm not sure what kind of talent will remain at 2.14 in the Milfa draft

I'll put +7 Rangers. Neuweiller alone is arguably a better prospect than what'll remain in 2.14 of the MiLB draft. Not sure Aguilar will have a regular role but he's cheap depth. Don't think this deal's gonna make or break anything but not sure it's a great return either.

+1 PHI I'd rather have a scratch off then a dollar.
I know Aguilar mostly from OOTP when he usually ends up on waivers and he's a pretty solid defender so I often claim him. I think there's enough talent at that point in the draft, even if its mostly darts, to justify a trade for depth. I disagree about Neuweiller being better then what you'll find at that part of the draft as well.
