Two critical offseason events begin this weekend!
MiLFA Draft
The Minor League Free Agent (MiLFA) Draft begins at 8 am EST on Sunday the 14th. The Dodgers have 1st pick. If you are in the first few picks and know who you want to pick feel free to email/proboards message me your selection(s) and priorities between players if you will not have access to the league site on Sunday.
The clock will run for 6 hours between picks, at which point the team on the clock will be skipped. Skipped picks may be made up at any time, or traded if desired. The clock will not run from 2 AM to 6 AM EST such that the overnight pick has a time limit of 10 hours.
Free Agency
The first round of offseason free agency opens on Monday the 15th at 12:01 AM EST. Each team may only nominate a single player for bidding each round, though the team may have active bids out on multiple players - restricted only by available salary to honor all open bids. There will be four rounds of offseason free agency.
The procedure for bidding in free agency is unchanged from last season. However there are a lot of new owners so download a copy of the free agent calculator spreadsheet (not editable via google sheets, requires download or copying into your own google drive) and the process as follows:
1. Enter all required input cells highlighted in green: Player age, current bid points (bid points of the previous offer), annual salary, number of years on contract, and desired option (if at all)
2. Copy and past all red-highlighted output cells. If "Is contract and bid valid" reads no, the bid is not valid and will be ignored until corrected.
3. If a bid is unbeaten for 24 hours the player is awarded per the standing bid's contract details.
I encourage you to play with the calculator and familiarize yourselves with the various contract options.
