MIN Reasons:
I was able to move my OF Kepler contract (13.4 mil - 2020) and pick up 2 more prospects in SP Nick Neidert (Mia) and SS Carlos Vargas (TB). I also acquired 1B Dan Vogelbach (Sea) who now has a better chance of seeing the majors as a DH in the AL. I also acquired the contract of OF Jarrod Dyson ($7 mil & expires 1 yr earlier than the Kepler contract). So this deal is again all about prospects + future roster & cap space.
Dyson to paid minors. Neidert + Vargas to MiLB roster.

I have always been a big fan of Kepler, and I think he has yet to reach his full potential. I know he is limiting himself by not being able to handle left handed pitching, but my hope is he figures it out. J.Dyson is a speed only part time player in my opinion approaching his mid thirties. Vogelbach is a frustrating AAAA player who hasn't had a chance in the bigs, and I don't see much opportunity this year in Seattle with Cruz and the addition of Healy, I think the M's front office banked on Vogelbach being able to play first, and he turned out to be a DH only type. Neidert is a nice SP prospect for the Miami Marlins mess, and Vargas is a ways from the bigs in a frustrating organization in TB that has insane depth but is reluctant to ever let prospects play. I think this trade makes me better in the short term, while not compromising my future. Good trade Tom, let the Minnesota trades keep rollin!!
