Red Sox trades
Sam Travis, 1B Red Sox, $600,000 20xx (Pre-arb) Brad Keller, RHP Royals, $600,000 20xx (Pre-arb)
to Padres for
Jaime Garcia, LHP Blue Jays, $2,500,000 2019 (Padres will retain $1,000,000 in salary during 2018) Eric Lauer, LHP Padres, $600,000 20xx (Pre-arb)
Padres to confirm
This trade makes sense for the Red Sox because it provides two near term upgrades to the back of the rotation in both Garcia and Lauer and over the long-term, Lauer has the potential to be a mid-rotation arm.

This trade helps me add much needed depth at 1B and I like Keller's stuff more than his stats at this point so he's a speculative add. I had some SP depth to trade from and some cap wiggle room to help Red Sox out this year on Garcia's contract.

+5 SD, to me keller and lauer in a way cancel each other out. Sam Travis is a nice piece, and (comming from a Jays fan) Garcia isn't the best thing in return.

Agree with Detroit, +5 SD this trade ends up being about Sam Travis. Still it addresses a need and BoSox gets 2 guys to address it.
