DET Trades Jose Albertos MIN Trades 2018 AMAT pick 1.9 DET Reasoning: I'm gonna live to regret this.....Albertos is gonna be good. ...he was the 2nd most important piece I got for dealing JD Martinez...... But I'm osessed with a certain player in this years draft class.... And I gotta make sure I get him. And I'm still greedy so I'm still looking for a pick in the 7-15 overall pick range. In case anyone who has one of those sees this and wants to talk (would trade my 2.13 pick up to it)

Even when Albertos's hype train was at its peak I didn't think he would be high-round material. I think he's got nice mid-rotation upside but I question whether he'll ever get his command, much less his control, consistent enough to start at the highest level. As a Cubs fan, I really hope he puts it all together but I'm much more high on what I could draft at 1.9 than Albertos, who's very raw and got the vast bulk of his development still ahead of him. If I put him into the 2018 draft class, he's got the type of profile I'd peg much, much lower than the 1st round.

+20 DET. I like Albertos, but not for a top 10 AMAT pick. I think the Twins should of asked for DET 2nd rounder as well. I think Albertos would go in the 1st round in this years draft, but not top 10.

MIN Reasoning - There aren't many other owners willing to part w/ any SPs so I went ahead and took a roll of the dice on Albertos. There are no guarantees that my 1st rd pick would have snagged me an SP significantly better so will take my chances w/ Albertos... the Cubs are solid so if he ends up being in their rotation anywhere he could be ok.

+7 DET, in this case I'd take the pick over the player but don't really see it as a big deal either way...Albertos is about as far from the majors as any draft pick this year, so it's more a question of which unknown you want - Albertos or what's behind door #2 (high draft pick).
