Dodgers receive: Amateur selection 1.14
Rangers receive: amateur selections 2.1, 3.9, 7.1 and BIRTHDAY WISHES(lol)!
Why TEX did this deal: Last year I wanted Shane Baz or Keston Hiura so I traded up to increase my likelihood to draft those players. There was one player I think would make it to my pick as a college bat, but I couldn't be positive. I traded down to gain more quantity and draft more players overall. There's some high school guys I like down in the 3rd round this year, so I'll take my chances of trading down, getting pick 25 and a 3rd and going with that.
The Dodgers are stockpiling 1st rounders. Rebuilding and hopefully these prospects turn out to be good players..
