Texas trades: Ross Stripling Atlanta trades: Kolby Allard, Spencer Howard, Adonis Garcia(1 million retained in 2018 and 2019)
Why TEX did this: It hurts alot to trade Ross Stripling. I really like him, but he is only under contract until 2019 and I think I'm selling high on a guy who I acquired for being a bullpen arm. Stripling is an incredible arm this year and could really help me down the stretch run. I still don't think my pitching or offense is really sustainable, so I traded an arm who is overachieving imo. Acquiring a top 100 for him is something I can't turn down right now. Especially with Spencer Howard, who I think is an intriguing prospect. Allard is having a good year, and he has the upside if a number 3 starter, but most likely a number 4. He reminds me of Shane Bieber a little bit, with the lack of fastball and good control, but not as good control. I think Allard can be a big league starter for 10 years, and him being under control for years, makes him even more appealing. Howard has good K numbers, and low BB numbers. I'll take that chance all the time.
Good working with you, Miahi

I accept this trade.
My reasoning: I need pitching help for this year playoff and next season (Morton will be a FA) and Stripling can help me a lot. Giving up on Kolby Allard and Spencer Howard hurts but I still have some good prospects left that I am counting on for the future and I also got some cap relief by getting rid of a big part of Adonis Garcia salary.
Thanks for the trade Joe! All the best to you!
