Astros has agreed to trade
Wilmer Flores, 3B/1B Mets ($2,800,000 2021)
to the Red Sox for
2019 3rd Round MiLFA Draft Pick
Red Sox rationale I have a bit of a man crush on Mr. Flores so I'm happy to acquire him here. I like the talent and think that when he eventually finds more playing time, he'll flourish. He'll probably be my starting CI immediately. Losing a draft pick is always hard, but I need to continue adding to a team built to win now.
Alex - please confirm. Thanks for the trade and thanks for being forthright with your needs!

Confirmed. Long term didn’t think much about him and figured I can find something good in the draft

+30 Boston - I'll give Astros this much, Flores isn't as valuable in an OBP league, and his power production isn't great if he's only going to be a 1B going forward. The Mets may shift him back to middle infield if Alonso comes up next year, but they haven't played him there consistently in a while. Either way, I don't see the point of selling 3 1/3 seasons of a cheap ML player for only a low MiLFA third-rounder, there should have been at least another good piece in the deal (prospect or high AMAT pick).

+35 Boston - Like Rays said, Flores isn't a game breaker in this league, but he's still a decent player. Best case scenario, a third round pick in the MiLFA draft is around the 50th pick out of prospects not currently owned.....and there are over 1000 prospects already owned. Seems like the Astros could've gotten more.
