TEX trades: Logan Shore, Anderson Tejada, Chih-Wei Hu and Aaron Civale
CHW trades: Adam Kloffenstein, Durbin Feltman and Ronald Bolanos.
Why Texas accepted this trade: I want upside and even if they are further away to the majors, I wanted something to dream on. All the players I traded away are close, but most of them are #4 or bullpen guys. The one guy that could hurt me is Tejada. I didn't like moving him, but I wanted Feltman, so it had to be that way. With Baz and Kloffenstein, I have two projects, with a good system surronding them. I'm willing to take a shot on that.
I'm higher than most on Shore. He's a Minnesota boy and I watched him in high school, nasty changeup, needs to command the ball better and then will speed to the majors in Detroit. Hu was just traded to Cleveland, he should be able to open for Cleveland if needed, so he will get some innings this year. Civale is a guy I'm high on, I actually picked him in advance of Bieber in the initial draft, reminds me of Bieber alot, could be as good as him, doesn't have a high ceiling though.
