Dodgers trade Kolten Wong, 2B, $4,900,000, 2021-22M
Brewers trade Domingo Santana, OF, $11,000,000, 2019
Dodgers reasoning:
As many of you know, I have been trying to obtain another OF for this year, but not necessarily for any long term plans. This gives me a guy whose will do just that, as he should get ample playing time with Seattle. The only drawback is the large dollar commitment, but it’s only for 2019. Wong is a guy who will play, maybe be an average 2B, and wasn’t terribly expensive, but with young guys I’m hoping to play soon in Urias and Madrigal, plus a couple of short term veterans in Kiké and Zobrist, he was an unecessary asset for me.

Agreed
Brewers reasoning: I'm not sure what I can expect from my current second basemen this year, due to either age/past production/role for one and opportunity for others. Wong should be a reliable, regular starter this year. And I may need him for the same in future years depending on playing time for my younger 2Bs .
I'm sure I'll miss Santana's bat in the OF this year. As was stated above, his contract is up after this year so he doesn't figure into my roster in the long term. That seemed like a fair give to stabilize 2B.

Even trade to me. Santana has upside but on only a one year basis, plus for one year considerably more money. Wong will play so fills the need and provides counting stats.

+ 10 LAD. The long term future for Wong is dimming significantly, LA gets out of the contract and gets a strong OF who gets a shot to play. LA is shaping up to be a contender this year
