CHC sends: Brock Stewart, RP, LAD Luis Curbelo, 2B, CHW
DET sends: Tyler Ivey, SP, HOU
This was primarily about freeing up a roster spot without giving Stewart away for free. I have been aware of Ivey from some Fangraphs articles based on his performance last season and think he is probably in the top 300 range of prospects, and certainly trending up. Factor in Houston's seemingly infallible pitching development program and I think I've got a pretty good back-end starting pitcher in the making. Curbelo has had some buzz in the past but is now trending down, though young and athletic enough to make this deal look silly in the future.

Agreed
I have some Pitching depth in the minors, and Ivey is a guy that I didn't have to keep at all costs, although I agree with Curtis about his potential, that's what I saw when I drafted him. I can sleep at night giving him up because it means I get Stewart who could be a mid rotation guy or sturdy bullpen arm if he capitalizes on his chances and especially if he gets traded. But I also get some much needed 3B depth in the minors which I despreatly need.....even if the guy is just a lottery ticket.
