Baltimore accepts after a grueling negotiation we settled on a simple yet interesting trade... As I develop my future I think it's very possible that dansby goes and plays to a higher level than he has showed and Didi's health obviously is a question.. it shouldn't affect his hitting but maybe it does maybe it affects his ability to take shortstop back from gleyber or Machado or tulowitzki(haha) blaze Alexander is a nice player... I ate half of didis contract because he is hurt and don't know when he will be back and we had to based on salary restrictions

I get the motivation for Baltimore but I've got to give ATL +20 just because I do t think the downgrade from Didi to Swanson is worth $7.4 MM a year. But I'm not a Swanson believer in the slightest and I'm sure that slants my impression more towards ATL's side than the lsague average will be.

Swanson's still got some potential to develop into a good big leaguer while Blaze (outside the cool name) is a decent prospect. All said, Didi is a fairly established star at a premium position on a very good contract, assuming he comes back healthy. Plus, there's a 5th rounder coming back.

Boiled down, this amounts to 2.5+ years of Didi below market value for Swanson's 4 years at market value (even if he starts performing, his arb value will increase somewhat accordingly) with the slight chance that Blaze can become a contributor in 4 years.

On second thought, this could be +25 ATL - but I'll leave it for now.

I made a correction on my spreadsheet. Didi Gregorius has a retained salary obligation of -$4,000,000 (Baltimore is retaining half of his salary for 2019)
