Toronto Receives: OF Aaron Altherr $3,800,000 2019-20P (Paid Minors) RHP Simeon Woods-Richardson NYM (minors)
Philadelphia Receives: SP Kevin Gausman $8,000,000 2021
Reasoning: I don’t know if I had a good one. I’m trying to win now and Gausman is a win now piece and may rebound in Atlanta. Then again, I am trying to save salary, free roster spots for my farm players, and I think have good starting pitcher depth. This was the best offer I received. Additionally, if Alther finds a spot on another team now that the Phillies signed Byrce, he may rebound with PT and I need OF help.
Also I wouldn’t be surprised if Gausman has his breakout now that I’ve given up on him officially in all my leagues.
Appreciate Paul for being patient with me during the past few weeks. Can the season start already?

Haha yea I found that funny too. Full circle. Maybe he’s required to be on my roster at the start of each season.

+5 Phillies. I think Gausman is a league average pitcher at least this year and Altherr has no place to play. The salary savings does even it out a little though.

Agreed.
Phillies reasoning: I need decent starters. While I'm not convinced Gausman is yet decent, I still think he can be and I'd rather have $8MM invested in him than $3.8MM in Altherr. Losing SWR kind of sucks because I like him and he's a local kid I'm rooting for - but he's one of the better prospects that are still so far away that I'm hoping I'll forget I ever traded him away when he becomes a good mid-rotation SP on the cheap for Frank's team in 2022 or 2023.

+10 Philly
I think getting out of Baltimore will do Gausman some good, as was seen in his stint with the Braves after being traded last year. Woods-Richardson has high upside, so I can see this trade tilting to the Blue Jays if he develops as hoped. But for right now, he hasn't pitched enough professionally for me to be completely sold on him.
If only the Blue Jays had an aging, middling first baseman on a one year deal they'd been willing to part with, they could've gotten a unanimous top 15-20 prospect based on recent trade value. *eye roll*
