Yankees trading 1B Tyler Austin $600,000 2023 9/6/1991 And 6th round amateur pick. For 1B/3B Matt Davidson $660,000 2022
Yankees accept this trade. With seager questionable moving forward I felt like I needed to add just a little bit of 3B depth. I like Davidson and the contract. Austin has a chance at something possibly but I'm not a believer! I've inquired about Davidson before and we couldn't get a deal done, glad we going something we both feel good with.

Rays accept. Davidson was I think my first trade in the league and I kind of wanted to follow his effort to be a two-way player this year but Yankees were persistent in wanting him and we were able to come to an agreement here.
Davidson's two-way attempt might give him more of a leg up to make/stay on the Rangers roster than Austin does with the Twins, and maybe he reverse Rick Ankiels his way into a decent career as a pitcher long-term but just hittingwise both he and Austin actually have similar MLB splits. Austin got backlogged as a Yankee but I'm kind of intrigued by his hot spring and minor league numbers, he's likely a AAAA player but who knows and getting the extra pick was a good sweetner for doing a division trade.
Best of luck this season, Josh.
