MiLB SP Denyi Reyes
MiLB OF Carlos Rincon
Rationale: Even though he's a rental I've been looking to get Smoak for some time, especially since a couple of guys I've been starting in my lineup are losing AB's or could lose AB's soon. I've already given up a lot in terms of chips this deadline so the price had to be right to make any further short-term moves.
Reyes I just picked in the 4th round of the MiLFA draft, the numbers haven't been there yet in AA but he could develop into a solid control pitcher, albeit with a thin margin for error given his tools and the AL East lineups he might someday pitch against. Rincon was one of the few holdovers left from when I took over two years ago and has a definite power tool but I never was really a fan given his generally low BA/OBP and high K total. With the draft coming up soon I feel I can adequately fill my minor league roster with my own remaining picks and the franchise fill of a good organization (Rays) so don't mind opening up a couple of more slots while still holding onto my upper tier of prospects.
