Cincinnati Sends: P Nate Eovaldi 1,950,000 2019-20T P Homer Bailey 750,000 2019
Toronto Sends: P Francisco Morales P Michell Miliano OF Mc Gregory Contreras
I accept turning Bailey into anything feels like a victory and I'm getting back similar value for Eovaldi for what I gave up for him.
In return I'm taking a stab at some high risk/reward guys.
Morales is probably the centerpiece, but he and Miliano are rather similar, both are tall projectable teenagers with plus fastballs and plus breaking balls. Lot of work needs to be done to develop their changeups and command so there is considerable reliever risk, but the upside is worth the gamble. Conteras has taken a step back this year and is a bad defender, but the bat speed and power combined with his age still makes him an attractive prospect.
Thanks to Frank for the trade and easy negotiations, good luck!

Woods made this quick and easy so I appreciate it.
With my team pushing for the playoffs, I needed some pitching reinforcements that fit within my salary cap. The reds had two such players to gamble on and I like the depth of my farm team has so I can afford to trade some away. With Severino out all year, my SP has been only okay. I feel like Bailey is in the best possible spot to succeed, being now a member of the Athletics for the rest of the year, and can be similar to what Fiers has been for them. He gives me some healthy SP depth. Anything I get from him is a bonus. Eovaldi is the real prize here. If he goes back to starting this year or next, I get a cheap SP. If he does become the Red Sox closer, I get a cheap closer on a great team the next year and a half and I’ll need all the bullpen help I can get next year when I lose Pressly and Hirano. If he sucks or is hurt, the contract isn’t hard to swallow.
