Cleveland sends 2020 2nd round AMAT pick 2019 6.21 AMAT pick
Chicago sends Matt Strahm $600,000 2022
I'm a fan of Strahm even after the bad year he is having. Plus I need some pitching depth my staff has been riddled by injuries.

Agreed, I can't see Strahm sticking in the Padres rotation with more and more of their high level prospects coming up. Factor in the poor performance and I thought it prudent to deal him for picks while I still could.

+7.5 Cubs (I couldn't decide between a 5 and 10, so the halfway point, it is)
I like Strahm, still. But between injury history and general ineffectiveness (outside his hot-but-relatively-short start to the season) in harnessing the raw stuff, a 2nd feels a bit high. There's a lot of hope that can be drafted in any year's 2nd round, hence the slight nod to Cubs.
On the flip side, I think Strahm's cheap contract and upside make this close still. It might take another year or two, but Strahm could make this a good deal for Indians. I don't like the extra 6th this year because there's still some good talent I think will be available then, but regardless of upside, a pick at 6.21 is still a lotto ticket.
