NYM Sends: Felix Hernandez $8,300,000 2021
CIN Sends: 2019 AMAT 7.11
I accept:
Really about forcasting for next year, contract isn't that big of a deal since I'm dropping about 60 mil this offseason, and will be losing some starters. I know he's been really bad, but I did like that he was trying something different (throwing his curve a lot more), and some of the early peripherals look good for him to be a back end starter when he comes back so looking for a bounce back to 2018 effectiveness (lol, I know)
The pick is to facilitate the deal. Additionally I would like to save one of the guys I'd have to drop from my Minors if I get my full compliment of picks so two birds one stone.
Thanks to Alex for the quick response

Mets accept.
I picked up Felix in the Syndergaard deal to help balance out salary and to help replace the starts I'd lose in the deal. Unfortunately, he got hurt right when I got him, so I didn't even get to use him for that purpose. This deal is appealing to me because I get the roster space I wanted when I waived him, but also don't have to pay him through 2021. Basically, I'm trading Felix for cap space and a lottery ticket.
