Good luck and health to all the teams!
First division title and playoff berth, at least I was able to maintain my hot start for the most part and beat out Boston in the head-to-heads to decide the division. Not too thrilled Seattle has their three best pitchers all scheduled for two-start weeks this week, but of course you never know how things play out in September or in a weekly matchup.

I was obsessively watching the playoff berth struggle between my Cubs and Mihai's Braves, as I have no interest in facing Carter's red-hot Nationals. The NL title came down to 0.01 points in K/9, as Luis Castillo struck out his final batter faced to take one win away from ATL and give CHC the margin necessary to take the lead! If not for that Mihai and I would have tied in regular season standings with the tiebreaker determined by our week 5 matchup, in which Mihai beat me 6-5-1. Talk about down to the wire!

Congrats Seattle...LOL what a non-competitive effort by my team. Would have been nice if half my lineup didn't go AWOL on the eve of the playoffs, then again it probably wouldn't have mattered anyway since my pitching also blew up like it was the Mets bullpen.

About time my team showed up for a playoff matchup. Good battle Hasan

Are we still able to edit lineups mid matchup? After the first week? No - I thought this was possible in 2017 but it was not. We are locked into the 2 week lineup, though I'm working on changing this next season

Is it over? No matchup on fantrax My bad, haven't been looking at the match up and obviously I set it up incorrectly in Fantrax. I've corrected it now (by merging the last 2 scoring periods of the season) and as far as I can tell the scoring carried over correctly. Let me know if you find any issues

After a huge week 2 power surge from their offense the Cubs have become the JBL's first 2-time World Series Champions! The Mariners would have won the single-week matchup handily - this was as close of a WS as I can remember until the Cubs' late breakaway. Thank you all for another tremendous season. Stay tuned for what's next! I'll be starting to make spreadsheet changes for expired contracts and playoff salary cap awards immediately. Arent we still required to meet the minimums for games started and relief appearances?? The GS and relief appearance requirements are specified in Fantrax per scoring period (in our case a 2 week period) so the minimums remained 4 GS and 10 relief appearances. Looks like we were both well in excess of that: 7 GS and 30 RA for CHC and 12 GS and 22 RA for SEA.

Should be prorated for the two week matchup, especially since after the first week your pitching ratios were disqualified because you didnt meet the 4 GS.You should have had to make 8 starts

Eh I could go either way on it philosophically tbh...now if it's in the Constitution then there's no debate on this year's result - congrats Curtis!
As far as going forward, I'm really divided. Part of me would have felt bad for Cubs getting screwed out of a win based on getting 7 starts instead of 8 over the most voliatile two-week period of the season, and when rosters can't be changed mid-period so he was stuck with German over two weeks. Especially since honestly in this case the splits weren't close enough where one start would have made a difference. Personally I wouldn't have wanted a win that way unless one start could have made a difference in enough of the splits - usually it can over a one-week period, not so much over a two-week period.
On the other hand, I don't see what the point of NOT prorating minimums over a two-week period is, unless it's just based on all of the above and not wanting a championship to get decided on a technicality. There's no other true two-week period to account for (All-Star week is ten days and that's also not prorated, so you could argue that four more days shouldn't get prorated by a bunch of appearances).

Here's what the constitution has to say about the issue - but unfortunately I never updated this after discovering that I could not have Fantrax reflect roster changes for the second week.
"The final two playoff weeks will be the World Series (ie. the statistics for the 2 week period are accumulated), matching the winners of each League against each other. Lineups for the World Series may be adjusted on the second Monday of the matchup by contacting a Commissioner and requesting the moves be made, which will lock for the second week of the matchup. These week 2 moves must be posted in the Major League Transactions board. As in the regular season, there is a minimum of 4 games started by SPs per week, for a total of 8 games. However because of the nature of the final week of the MLB resulting in more frequent skipped starts or rest days, the JBL allows leniency for the 2nd week of the matchup. At the onset of the second week of the World Series (second Monday of the matchup) each team must have 4 scheduled starts per Fantrax’s schedule. If either owner has a dispute with Fantrax’s posted schedule, they must show a credible article or schedule to support the deviation from Fantrax’s schedule. If any disputes arise between the players, the Co-Commissioners will discuss and rule on the matter. All possible efforts should be made to prevent the World Series from being decided by the minimum games started requirement"
I can show that Bumgarner was always intended to start the final game of the season, and that when lineups locked on the first Monday of the period German was scheduled to start at least once over the final two weeks.
We obviously need to do something about this issue in the offseason. I have a proposal coming your way soon that will include an ability to change scoring rosters on both Mondays and Fridays (taking inspiration from the NFBC). I'm pretty sure that will take care of this dispute in future seasons.
