Mid-Draft Update:
3 hour timer on MiLFA picks now, with clock pausing for 9 hours overnight (0000 to 0900 EST)
Draft begins 0600 EST 11/11/19
I have set the MiLFA draft to begin on Monday November 11th at 0600 EST. Last season's MiLFA took 12 days to complete, 15 days the year prior.
Each team will have 6 hours to make a selection, with the clock stopping between 0200 and 0600 EST, effectively making the overnight pick a 10 hour clock rather than 6 hour. The pick clock may be sped up in later rounds as picks become less consequential in order to expedite the draft.
If a team fails to make a selection prior to the clock expiring, then the next team will be eligible to pick. A team that misses its pick in a round will be allowed to make the pick at any time until the end of the draft.
Player Pool
As a reminder, players eligible in this draft are all that are unowned by a JBL team and are rookie eligible (have less than 130 AB or 50 IP in the MLB). An exception to this is international free agents that are not subject to the MLB's international bonus pool rules - those that are 25+ years old or have more than 6 years of professional experience.
Since this is a bit of a murky situation contact me if you have any questions regarding this year's crop of free agents.
All owned minor leaguers can be searched easily by pressing Ctrl + F on any tab of the league spreadsheet, clicking the "..." and selecting "Search all sheets" on the subsequent window (all sheets is selected by default if my browser is any indication".
Since there is no ready-made prospect rankings to help in this preparation I recommend doing some research beforehand. The 2020 Fantrax page's free agent pool will show unowned minor leaguers, so I typically combine digging through those lists and cross-referencing player stat pages and prospect ranking articles in my research.
