Im not huge om Chavis... Im huge on the first pick... Relieving myself of hellickson is a treat...with two picks in the milfa top 5 and 90 million in salary is promising

Really interesting trade, I think +5 on the SF side as Chavis and Means are both young, cheap assets and a good price for taking on Hellickson. Then again, if you really wanted 1.1 in the draft then I totally get this. Means and Chavis doesn’t have the best peripherals. However, I’m more of a current productive kind of guy, but a nice creative trade.

I don't really understand this deal for the Giants. Not to second-guess Troy's strategy but I think he's in for a long rebuild in order to build a playoff-contending team and trading high upside picks like the 1.1 MiLFA for average (albeit young) MLB talent doesn't seem like it will do enough to make his entire roster competitive. Not to say that the deal isn't fair (I think a win-now team like mine would and should have made a deal like this) but I don't think it's in the Giants' best interests to be trading future potential stars like he could have had with the 1.1 pick

+15 Baltimore Orioles can add a "generational" talent although only 16 years old, he will come up at the time BAL figures to be competitive in 21-23. Chavis is a decent loss but he might just be a average regular at best if he finds a home on the field. Means and De los santos are decent arms but worth the price to move up an entire round. The addition of Hellickson's salary is huge in a year when there seems to be a potential free agency spending frenzing coming down the pipe. I can see San Frans reasoning as well if you arent a fan of picking 1.1 and are looking to add depth pieces. Interesting trade to say the least
