Braves trade: Jon Gray $14,000,000 2021-22P Dustin Pedroia $2,330,000 2020-21P
Mets trade: Anderson Espinoza (minors)
I like Gray and think his contract is reasonable. I also get the decrepit, but former MVP, Dustin Pedroia. Pedroia is mostly a salary dump, but I do have a need at MI if he makes a comeback. Espinoza may have some of the highest upside for pitchers in my minor league system. However he's had 2 TJ's already and I think my minor league pitching depth is rock solid and I can afford giving him up here.
@dinamo14 to confirm

I confirm the trade.
This is a dump salary trade. Once I got Verlander I knew I have to get more cap space in order to get some other FA. Getting Anderson Espinosa is a nice bonus. He is just 21 and I really hope he will come back healthy after his second TJ.
Thanks for the trade @alex!

+15 Mets. I still am a believer in Gray, the contract is somewhat hefty but we have seen him produce in the past. Just like everyone I would like to see what he can do outside of Coors. Ive started to really worry about Espinoza, Mets get the better of the deal in my opinion because Im not sure Espinoza gets healthy enough to pitch in the bigs

+10 Mets
Gray still has the potential to be a #2 but obviously needs to find consistency. Going into his prime years, $14MM may seem overpriced given his history but I think it'll be a decent-good contract through 2021.
Espinoza has huge upside potential. But he also has huge downside, injury risk. Simply put, if he can get healthy and recover from another TJS, he'll be in the minority but has frontline upside still.
Peddy's a cheap backup, not good or particularly bad contract-wise.
Gray's a bonafide major leaguer with more upside to come. Edge Mets. If not for Espinoza's potential ceiling, this would go way more towards Mets, obviously, but Braves getting an upside arm to unload an unnecessary salary helps mitigate the balance too.

@dinamo14 needs to waive a minor league player to make room for Espinoza
