Milwaukee Trades: SP Spencer Turnbull $5,215,000 2020
LAD Trades: SS Dansby Swanson $792,000 2022 SP Daniel Norris $15,250,000 2021-22P
With Milwaukee to retain 2,607,500 of Turnbull's salary for 2020.
Milwaukee's reasoning: I need help at SS now and for the next few years. My MiLB won't provide much help there for a while and the FA options aren't great. Swason is solid, young and cheap...for now. He fills a huge hole in my roster for the next few years. I didn't like giving up Turnbull, but he's only under contract for the next year. I really don't like eating 3 years of Norris at $15MM, but he may turn things around and be serviceable as a 5th starter. I have some cap space so it seemed worth the risk to get the help at SS that I need.

Thanks to Jon for an easy trade. It took a couple of weeks to come together, but it was an easy process. Hopefully it works out well for both of us.

As most of you know, I’ve been trying to trade Swanson since I got him. It’s not that I don’t like him, I’m just pretty well stocked at SS with Seager, Adames, and soon Urias, plus several highly rated MiLB SS. Having offered Dansby around the league, I couldn’t find another hitter or SP available that made sense for me. After filling a couple holes in free agency, I was more open to possibilities, so when the Brewers offered some salary relief along with a one year SP, I thought it made a lot of sense for my roster.
Thanks for sticking with me and getting this one done.

I'm going +20 Dodger's here, and I know dansby is a great player and a great pick up, but I don't see Daniel Norris as being a good enough get for Turnbull and eating money. A straight trade here I feel would of been more beneficial for Milwaukee!

Damn I should have asked about him, didn't have the ML pieces you wanted though. +4 for the Brewers for stability at a premium position. Though shedding that Norris contract is really nice.

Josh, I agree with you 100%...Turnbull straight up for Swanson would have been more beneficial for me. I don't think there's any way that was happening. I wouldn't do it if I were in Jon's position. I needed help at SS as Arcia's offense is bad, won't be improving and he's my only SS on my MLB roster. On top of that, he probably won't be starting at SS by the end of the season, if he makes it past mid-season. With no one in my immediate pipeline, and very limited options in FA, I knew I might have to overpay to fill a position that as Woods put it, is a premium position to fill with a productive player.
So I ate a bunch of salary. I had the salary space and have a bit more rolling off next year. I didn't see Norris as replacing Turnbull in any way. Though maybe if I have an injury or two (please no, last year's SP injuries were enough) he can hopefully fill in short-term.
I see it as a win-win now, hopefully it will be a + in my favor down the road. Thanks for the feedback
