Each owner may only post 5 player threads but each owner can bid freely on as many open threads as they wish. Is this accurate?

Part 1.4 reads:
"Each GM may only post 5 players for auction every 24 hours"
This is in effort to prevent a crazy wave of players posted all at once that would be impossible to keep up on.

So if I get the format right, 24 teams put out 5 initial players to bid on, then all of those threads are open for all of us to "slow auction bid" until no upgrade in bid for 12 hours, then team with final bid gets player...so like a slow auction, but many, many simultaneous "items" for bid...I like this!
How are you going to keep track of the no more than 5 per/24 hours rule? Honor system? Seems very tough to monitor...
I would suggest you assign a co-commish or helpers: 1 to track the max# of bids/day per owner, 1 to track and "close out" threads with no bid for 12 hours, 1 person responsible for moving secured players into the roster spreadsheet to verify correct salary, position, etc...so 24 people aren't all doing it in a different way.
You have probably already thought of all of that though...so no worries...

I will say I wish we were doing an auction draft for the rest of the available players. Regular season will be starting in a month and I'm worried we will not fill our rosters before then. I've been in similar bid style fantasy leagues and some of those players can be bid on for weeks. If we did an auction it would be easier for everyone one to keep track of what's going on.

I think you will find that big chunks of players being done simultaneously will go pretty quick. For players you really want, and big names, they will close out faster than you think without dragging on. The fact that you have to officially post a FA calculator improved bid will make people come pretty close to what they are willing to pay very quickly. You will also find that when you post a small time player, there will not be a lot of action on it and it will close out pretty quick. I like this method simply because it eliminates trying to figure out when to get everyone online at the same time.
For keeping track, I think that since the name of the player will be it's own thread until the player is done, you are just scanning to bid on those you have interest in and ignoring the rest.

I'll be offering clarification on many aspects of the free agent process as we get closer. Will have full clarification prior to keeper decisions locking in

Is there a deadline for setting keepers? Or some sort of "no later than" date for when the initial free agency begins?
