Orioles receive: Nomar Mazara(8 million retained in 2020)
Rangers receive: Kris Bubic, Blaze Alexander
After exploring the market for a controllable pitcher; we come up empty. We receive a pitching prospect we really like who has potential to come up late in the year. Bubic has had incredible numbers as a pro combined with his +control and 2+ secondary pitches, we like him to a JA Happ type of major leaguer. With 6 years of control, that's everything that we feel is this trade. Blaze Alexander is a bat who has potential at 3B, we needed some depth at 3B in our system, he's a nice prospect where we can have him develop for some time.
Mazara has been frusturating for 2 years. He has just been so average and we feel we added average to plus average in McCutchen and Grichuk this offseason. In Chicago, he has a chance to play better, because he is going to feast off of Royals pitching and Tigers pitching for at least a year. He has potential for 30HRS, .850OPS, but I feel it should be elsewhere.
Thanks, Jazz. It was easy working with you, good luck this year.

I accept.
Mazara at 24 years old fills a huge huge outfield need for me this year... I needed to get a impact bat for cheap and id say paying nothing this year accomplishes that.
I like bubic but im not in love with him and despite being blazed all the time I really just liked blaze Alexander's name.
