Cincinnati Sends:
P Raisel Iglesias 13,100,000 2021
Minnesota Sends:
P Shelby Miller 7,000,000 2020-21P
P Zack Thompson
P Tommy Doyle
2020 FYPD 8th round Pick (PHI)
2020 FYPD 10th round pick (PHI)
Cincinnati accepts. I've been trying to move Iglesias for almost 3 seasons now, the contract has been an issue and I haven't been really willing to sell at a discount, but with window concerns I decided that a bit of a discount was in order.
Fortunately I'm able to get a risk reward lefty as a centerpiece. I love lefties, and Thompson is a lefty with amazing stuff the spin rate on his curveball is reportedly around 3000, combine that with a polished slider and serviceable fastball and changeup he has the ML ready stuff. The risk comes with injury concerns in both his shoulder and elbow that caused him to miss time in college. Timeline works as he should be up by this year or 2021 depending on how aggressive the Cards are with him. I'm also able to snag big hoss Tommy Doyle a power armed fastball/slider late reliever profile with good K rates and keeps the ball down (necessity considering where he'll pitch) timeline similar to Thompson's depending on how aggressive the Rox are. Willing to take Miller's contract, who may get a look this year, if not it's still a net positive on the cash anyway and Minnesota is able to get a closer at a below market contract on the difference.
Thanks to Casey for the easy trade and negotiations.
