Toronto Sends: RP Brad Hand $9,600,000 2020
Chicago Sends: SS Zach McKinstry (MiLB)
Toronto Accepts. Reasoning: I could turn an expensive reliever I was going to lose at the end of the season into a farm guy I liked, close to the majors. Pretty much it. Still like Hand, and he'd help my already weak bullpen this season, but I intend to figure the bullpen out later.
This was the other trade was referring to in his BAL trade. Thanks to Curtis for working with me on this, negotiations were brief and creative.
Happy to make some trades again.
Edit: Also frees up Salary and a roster spot for free agency opening tomorrow.

Agreed. Always easy working with Frank and while I couldn't quite pry Cespedes from him I'm happy with the result.
I was a big McKinstry fan and was pleased to get him with my 5th rd MiLFA pick, but Hand is just too good to pass up, even in a 60-game season. Even if the season doesn't finish due to COVID I'll have stayed roughly even with the draft picks from Jazz, so that was the realization that allowed me to make this deal.

Processed. @fjciv you'll need to promote/cut a minor leaguer to get to the 60 man limit

I thought we had 80 man minor league spots now? If not that’s fine, I’ll promote someone.
