Sea trade Noah Song SP BOS Atl trade Patrick Corbin SP WAS. Reasoning: P Corbin is a rental and I was trying to move him once I was out of the playoff picture. Noah Song is a very talented guy but there is a lot of uncertainty witj his military service. I hope Song will rejoin RedSox sooner rather than later. Thanks for the trade Seattle Mariners (Robin)!

I thought deals had to be accepted and confirmed by midnight Saturday by both teams to be allowed?

I hate to see a deadline deal go that way but yes, that is the letter of the law regarding the trade deadline. This deal will unfortunately not be processed.

The trade was agreed on PM before the trade deadline. It is not my fault that Seattle Mariners (Robin) did not check the proboards. I tagged him in order for him to be aware of it. Robin is a co-commisioner. He can confirm it.

Yeah I agreed upon before the deadline. Unfortunately with work I am out of service for extended periods of time. I wasn't able to confirm the posting before the deadline but the deal was done.

As our entire coaat is burning to the ground.(Washington state, Oregon ,and california) our co commisioner robin is fighting these fires and working weeks in a row with no weekends or time. They fight fires in remote areas with no service. I personally can't fault someone for agreeing to a deal and then not being able to confirm due to helping save the earth. Its been a reoccuring theme and not suprise But that's just my opinion.

I would like to take a moment to say (I know this is off topic from the trade) that I have gallons of respect for Robin and firefighters, medics, ect ect all along the west coast states, and all across the country for risking thier lives every day. God bless you Robin

There's no one at fault at all, but the precedent has consistently been that trade "clocks" do not begin until the second owner posts acceptance. While the Constitution doesn't have any language particular to this, I think this precedent is the closest thing to apply to this ruling. After all it is important to have a deadline, however arbitrary the date of the deadline may be. I will be updating the Constitution to reflect this sentiment in the offseason. However, if the majority (4 out of 7) of playoff teams besides the Mariners support the processing of this transaction for the scoring period beginning Friday, in recognition of Robin's work schedule and the fact that no explicit precedent exists, then I'm willing to process it. This will 100% be the exception to the future rule. The Cubs support upholding the trade. Los Angeles Dodgers (Jon) Milwaukee Brewers (Mike) Washington Nationals (Carter) @lukesidaway @letitsano @hasan: Please publicly post your support or disagreement with the above proposal.

Its been a reoccuring theme and not suprise But that's just my opinion. I’m not indifferent to any of that, but by the same token deadlines have to be blind to people’s personal situations. I distinctly remember Curtis saying at one point (maybe on chat) that the deal had to be accepted by both teams by midnight to be processed. That’s why I was surprised when he initially put it through on Fantrax after Robin was only able to confirm it a couple days later. To my knowledge we’ve never had a late agreement be processed in my four deadlines so it was only fair to raise the question and have a discussion on it. The fact this involves two veteran managers where there’s no reason to doubt the agreement being reached before midnight since it was posted before then, and the fact the whole 2020 season is a one off anyway are the main things that compel me to allow the deal to pass, so long as it’s understood this deal will also be a one off going forward. Now that I’ve said my piece, Rays will be the fourth and deciding vote for passing.

I understand to stand strictly by rules, but given the occasion and Robin being one of the most active members in the league, we can excuse him because he was fighting fires on the west coast. The trade was published before the trade deadline, but not accepted is good enough for me as long as both owners agree to the trade. I feel both teams not accepting the trade before the deadline is a nitpick rule and should be revised. In my opinion, it's not the biggest deal in the world and being a competitor, I want to beat each team at full strength.
