Springer (salary covered by MIN) Hoskins Pablo Lopez
For
M. Urbina G. Jones A. Vargas H. Head
Swapping some very promising but 3-5 year away minor leaguers for the type of talent that should help me stand a chance against LAD this year in the NL! I'm a little nervous about Bohm making Hoskins a bench bat, and obviously the TJ surgery, but MIN included Lopez to push me over the hump. Props to Casey, thanks for the negotiation.

Accepted. Im trying to compete in 2022 and beyond and i get to upgrade my minors big time by giving up very talented but expiring players. Good luck Cubs on your run, thanks for keeping the trade talks open until we reached final terms.

Upon realizing that the deal above violates MIN's retain salary limit we've updated as follows
Springer ($7.7 salary covered by MIN) Hoskins Lopez
For
M. Urbina G. Jones A. Vargas H. Head K. Davis $14 MM 2021-22P

+5 Twins........I think
I like the return for Chicago so much that I spent a couple of days trying to get the same return for my own team, although not with Lopez but I think another pitcher. I was willing to give up a couple high level prospects and a couple draft picks, but not the quantity of nice prospects that CHC gave up here. This leads me to believe that I favor Minnesota’s side or I would have offered more. The only reason I hesitate is because two of the prospects play a position that wasn’t the preference of the gaining team in a trade. I still think this is a very nice haul for these two guys (and Lopez). I do think it got slightly worse with the inclusion of Davis, since another poor year will cost Minn $14 mil in 2022 salary. Otherwise, I probably would have gone +10.

+40 CHC
To me, you don't move quality players and basically good to great fantasy players for quantity.
You need to ask for a Kiriloff, Rutledge, Cruz or Jones in this type of deal. Even with two of those guys being rentals, those players are good fantasy players. I really believe if you waited you could of got a better deal for maybe just Hoskins and Springer.
Urbina is a guy that is soooo far away, it's tough to make him a centerpiece in this type of deal. Greg Jones is a good prospect and should of been a 2nd tier guy in this type of trade, while Hudson Head is a flyer type of prospect. It's just not enough quality right now.
I like the Khris Davis move strictly for Minnesota, he is not looking to compete this year and it's worth a shot to see if Davis bounces back and he can get some surplus value from him.
Curtis gets it done again. Well done.

I kinda agree with everyone. I got to hand pick my guys but got fewer than I wanted. I actually like the trade a little better now with Davis. I was talking with multiple teams about these guys and this trade was competitive. Once everyone saw I was trading my big league talent I got many kinds of offers. When it came down to it it was about me liking the guys i got, and not caring about the guys I gave up. Every prospect is risky but his players don't come with any guarantees. (Even though I worked hard to convince Curtis that during negotiations). Overall I think he got a better deal than me, but we both got what our teams needed. Thanks again Curtis for coming up with the Davis idea to keep us legit. Pleasure doing fake business with you.
