Dodgers trade

SP Julio Urias $10,300,000 2021 (Retain $3,000,000)

Mariners trade

RP Demarcus Evans

Urias is my number 6 or 7 starter and is on the last year of his contract. I figured I should get something for him now and also cut some salary. I also think Evans will be the closer in Texas by 2022, so this makes sense long term for me.

Seattle accepts
This accomplishes an offseason objective for me, adding a quality starting pitcher. With Free Agency starting tomorrow I know how prices on the open market can escalate quickly. With a lot of expiring contracts after this year, Urias fits with the rest of them. I think the Dodgers really let him loose this year and the sky is the limit, would be nice if he was under contract for a few more years. I really like Evans, I think he has a bright future if he can continue to limit his walks. I am ok with letting him go because RP is what it is and there are reports of him having some lat troubles in the early going
