Draft officially begins 0600 EST 02/21/2022, although picks can be posted anytime after 00:01 EST.
Each team will have 6 hours to make a selection, with the clock stopping between 0200 and 0600 EST, effectively making the overnight pick a 10 hour clock rather than 6 hour. The pick clock may be sped up in later rounds as picks become less consequential in order to expedite the draft.
If a team fails to make a selection prior to the clock expiring, then the next team will be eligible to pick. A team that misses its pick in a round will be allowed to make the pick at any time until the end of the draft. Makeup picks for teams with absent owners may be made at Commissioner discretion.
Player Pool
As a reminder, players eligible in this draft are all that are unowned by a JBL team and are rookie eligible, i.e. players having less than 130 AB or 50 IP career in the MLB. An exception to this is international free agents that are not subject to the MLB's international bonus pool rules - those that are 25+ years old or have more than 6 years of professional experience.
Since this is a bit of a murky situation contact me if you have any questions regarding this year's crop of international free agents.
Recent international signing Robert Suarez (P, SDP) is not eligible for the MiLFA draft as he is older than 25 years old. Additionally Japanese OF Seiya Suzuki has not signed and is also older than 25 years old so is likewise not eligible.
Tips to Find Players to Draft
All owned minor leaguers can be searched easily by pressing Ctrl + F on any tab of the league spreadsheet, clicking the "..." and selecting "Search all sheets" on the subsequent window (all sheets is selected by default if my browser is any indication).
Since there is no ready-made prospect rankings to help in this preparation I recommend doing some research beforehand. The 2022 Fantrax page's free agent pool will show unowned minor leaguers, so I typically combine digging through those lists and cross-referencing player stat pages and prospect ranking articles in my research.
