Hughes was the guy I was hoping to get if I could pull off a trade.
Being a Colorado pitcher is the primary reason I didn't pick him ahead of Ferris. It's not that I think pitching at Coors Field is so troubling, though I do believe it's more difficult, it's that the Rockies have had trouble developing arms. Outside of Marquez, I can't think of another guy I'd consider a good, potential all-star out of their rotation in maybe 20 years.

I dont know how much to value any pitcher Marquez has been pretty decent there, I think it depends on what they throw and what works there. But he had better be a lot better than closest second.

I thought Peter Lambert would break the mold. Just didn't happen. I'd like to see them trade him to Milwaukee or Minnesota or Kansas City or St. Louis or something. Lol

Speaking if Rockies pitching. I am really rooting for Riley Pint. Kid gave up on baseball and came back. A good story.

Didn't Pint get promoted to AAA recently?
I haven't followed him since forever but I think I saw something in a forum somewhere.

The neon greens Tulsa Drillers jerseys are the ugliest thing I've seen.

I might just be old with a bad memory, but I feel like this draft is moving slower than it ever has in the past - by a lot.

Yulian and I apparently have similar taste in prospects. I was hoping Fabian would slip to the 4th.

I had been trying to trade up all the way to the middle of the 2nd round to pick Locklear, but couldn’t swing a deal. I was surprised he fell all the way to my pick at 3.11. So I have to ask with all of the Mariners fans in here, what’s wrong with him? What am I missing?

I think that was Ritchie, Houston’s pick, not Locklear. Good catch though.

Ha, I just deleted it realizing my mistake. You scared me a little, lol. My bad. Saw the pick first, figured to come here and saw you posted about why guy dropped so far, and I already had Ritchie on my mind. Later realized it, then went to draft thread to post there instead since you weren't talking about Ritchie and at that point I didn't want to confuse anyone further. Fun times. I'd take Locklear around here though. The hit tool concerns and easier college competition sacred me away from having him higher.

I see a few possible flaws but all in all I think he was worth a 4th rounder

So I have to ask with all of the Mariners fans in here, what’s wrong with him? What am I missing? When he was in the cape he really struggled to pick up the ball and struck out too much and walked too little. He barely saw over 91MPH at VCU; however, early results look good for him so far. I'd rsther swing and miss on a kid who has higher upside if I were to take a position player. Not to say that there is not value in Locklear. Good reputation and interesting swing.

I like the Bolte pick by Mike. A lot of upside there. I considered him, but in the end there was too much hit tool risk since this was my highest pick in this draft.

Ben Joyce is probably one of the most polarizing prospects in a while. He throws absolute gas and can throw it for strikes; however, there is no offspeed movement or command. I have heard people love him or people that think he'll burn out fast. Maybe that is why the Angels have him in AA already?

I got a guy scouted but can't say anything yet. I think he's totally off everyone radar right now. But it'll be a surprise for y'all real soon.

I love the Kasevich pick by MIN. I tried like crazy to trade into the 3rd to get him, but no one seems to be trading this year.

Is there a reason why the draft is at a dead stop and no round 6 board up yet?

The Twins usually had pick 1 in each round and they made the thread usually.
