Padres reasoning: Adding low salary infield depth, a short term upgrade at SP and offloading Haniger's salary. I like Haniger, but with his injury history and my current roster construction, that 15 mil could be better spent elsewhere. Minor league pitching is the one area I have depth, so adding Cantillo to get the deal over the line is do-able. Civale is intriguing, his ERA spiked after moving to Tampa, but his FIP didn't, and his K's were also way up. Maybe the Rays will work their magic on him?

Yankees accept. I don't mind losing a backup C and a SP I'll get nothing for later if I didn't make a move now. I think Urias is going to get pushed out of the infield soon with Baltimores depth there. Getting a almost MLB ready end of rotation guy was a plus and I like his K/9 also for a starter and also with SD starting staff right now I like his chances to be in the rotation very soon which replaces Civale for little to no money! Haninger will hopefully finally be healthy and give me the bigger bat I really need. Thanks Sean.
