The following provides guidance to finalize your Active Roster for the start of the JBL regular season
THE RULES
JBL Teams are required: (1) to maintain Active Rosters at all times that have at least 20 MLB Active players (not in minors or on the DL); and (2) have a daily lineup of at least 17 players at the required positions. See constitution section 2.1.
By March 30, 2017, your Active Roster at Fantrax must at least have the 17 required positions covered. By Opening Day teams should have at least 20 but not more than 27 MLB Active Players (Active + Reserves) at its Fantrax Roster. Note that initial free agency ends 3/26 23:59
MINOR LEAGUE PROMOTIONS
Promotions of minor leaguers from the MiLB keeper selection to the 27-man or 40-man roster must be posted prior to 3/31 at 23:59. Post these promotions by
1. Create a team thread in the Transactions board (Ex: "New York Yankees Transactions") and post the promotions.
2. Update your spreadsheet to move minor leaguers onto your 27 or 40 man roster. Remove the player from the minor leagues entirely. Pay them $600,000 if promoted to 27-man, or $100,000 if promoted to 40-man. Indicate the appropriate roster in the “Roster” column and indicated “Y” under “Arbitration” (see constitution sections 6.1 for prospect promotions and 7 for arbitration)
HOW TO SET YOUR FANTRAX SCORING ROSTER TO START THE SEASON
Here is how to set your 27 player Active Roster for the start of the season prior to 3/31 at 23:59
1. Go to your roster at Fantrax. If you have more than 27 players on your team due to keepers + free agency, you will see that Fantrax will note that your team has an “Illegal Lineup” as it will have more than 27 players listed there on the Active Roster (noted at Fantrax as Active + Reserves). To reduce your team to 27 Active Players: (A) place players eligible for the Disabled List on "Injured Reserve"; (B) move any other players to "Minors" (Note: these players might still on your 40 man roster). When you only have 27 (or less) players listed at Active + Reserve, the "Illegal Lineup" notice will disappear. Note that you can also promote a player from “Minors” to the Active Roster for the start of the season so long as you have room to do so. So, by Opening Day you should have a Fantrax roster that will accumulate statistics.
Note: The Fantrax “Minors” will hold both players on your 40-man that are not on the 27-man Active roster, and players from your minor league roster.
2. Go to your Roster Spreadsheet
In the "Roster Status" column, designate players as either "27" or "40". If a player is on your Disabled List, indicate in the "Disabled List" column either "DL7/10/60" (Note: a player can be DL60 only when placed there by his MLB team) or “Restricted” if suspended in the MLB.
3. Finally, go to the League ProBoards site:
Go to the "Transactions" Board and continue a team thread copy/paste your starting 40-man roster, including the column that indicates 27 man vs 40 man vs DL. This should be a separate post in the same thread as your minor league promotions covered above.
