Tigers receive: Clay Buchholz $990,000 2018-19M
I think this trade is beneficial for both. He is trying to compete and Jimenez is a complete wildcard for playing time. Buchholz isn't the best talent, but he shows flashes here and there which can be helpful in spot starts. Jimenez' possible closer appeal, long term, is enticing to me.
