Cubs rationale: After stupidly/naively not keeping A.Russell I sat out on the middle infield bidding. I'm hoping that I can get decent outfield replacements for Choo through a combination of Upton and free agency. Youth is on my side with the bulk of the deal, which also helps. If I had to grade it myself I'd say +5 my way. Makes sense that I'd think I got the better end of the stick in my own trade right?

The Giants accept!
I have a strong lineup with but a few holes, and two of those were second base and my fourth outfield spot, which receives a huge upgrade. Choo plays very well in this league, and is an OBP machine. I'm more than willing to bet last year was mostly the result of injuries. Dietrich broke out last year and with Prado battling a hamstring issue, he'll be the starter for them at third, giving him everyday time, not to mention eligibility at third.
I have Christian Arroyo, the Giants' top prospect, coming up the system soon enough to fill in the vacancy left by Semien, although I'll need a stopgap for the time-being. Semien is a very good player, but he has depressed power and reduced counting stats due to hitting in the middle of the A's lineup as well as having to play in the Coliseum. He's still a valuable contributor in almost all categories, but again, move makes sense for me with Arroyo coming soon.

+3 (To be different) Cubs.
A young MI even with bad OBP is more valuable then an aging 4th OF that has good OBP, there's enough stuff thrown in that balances it out, but the edge goes to youth and position.
