Cubs send: Josh Fields 11th round initial minor league draft pick
Twins send: Alex Kirillof Lewin Diaz
I managed to pick up a few strong (IMO) and cheap relievers and when Anthony advertised interest in relievers I figured I'd see if I could get a decent offensive prospect. Here it is. Fields has big K/9 upside but comes with plenty of question marks. Kirillof would be a lot more appealing if not for the lost year to TJ, but from what I've seen most hitters make a full recovery. Lewin Diaz seems like he could be a solid fantasy first baseman at his ceiling. Happy to bring a couple of strong hitters into my minor league system.

Twins confirm
We needed to add an extra arm in the bullpen and was able to acquire a decent and cheap reliever in Feilds. Like Cubs said he has high K/9 upside and we felt Diaz and Kirilloff due to their high ETA's and injuries

I'll go 10 cubs but that's just because I'd never trade top position prospects for Joe Everybody bullpen. Could work out for twins though, but Fields is like option 4 out of that pen for now. Since Kiriloff got traded for a reliever he's probably hall of fame bound

25 cubs, for a guy who maybe will get 30 innings this year, a top pick in last years draft is a bit overkill.

+20 cubs. They get the much higher ceiling in the prospects. Seems like quite a bit to pay for middle relief.

20 Cubs. Kirriloff is a pretty good prospects and Diaz has good upside. Fields does have a decent K/9 stats, but for two good prospects? Little overkill

15 Cubs. I just don't think Josh Fields is very good. Sure these prospects haven't played beyond rookie ball yet and Kirilloff just got TJ, but it's a steep price for a guy like Fields. That said, I don't think this is too egregious, it just sets a higher price on RPs than I expected.

28 Cubs.
Fields posts a nice kp9, but is 31 and can't get lefties out, severely limiting his utility and may not even make opening day roster.
I'm not all that high on Kiriloff, but even then I'd like to see a better return for the 2nd best org spec. Add Diaz into the mix (a guy I do like) and it really pushes it over.
Both these guys are far away and with the injury maybe there's some fear, so who knows what will happen. I just can't see that a rare TJS for a batter means that his upside is worth less then a specialist arm.
Also, what is it with the Twins organization and their batters needing TJS?

Favors Cubs some. I like Kiriloff a lot, TJ or not, Diaz a nice pick up. Fields is OK, maybe a higher draft pick as well in the return. Every team has their process though.

17 to be different. Cubs with the win. seems a high price to pay for a reliever.

I'm not for vetoing trades in dynasty leagues unless they are just outright ridiculous. My issue with this trade isn't so much an issue as it creates a benchmark for how we value prospects. If the going rate is a middling RP plus an 11th round draft pick for two top ten organizational specs than you better believe it's going to be used as a precedent for other potential offers. Obviously some orgs top ten are better than others but this trade really de valued how we are going to look at specs moving forward. I'm fine with the trade again. But it does put a certain lower than expected ceiling on prospects. Time will tell how it goes but for me if gamble on one of those two becoming useful MLB commodities for sure while removing so little importance. K/9 great maybe some holes maybe it all eventually clicks. But, if a reliever can't get you 3 categories minimum theyrthey're hardly worth a contract let alone a trade. Be interesting to see how this one unfolds. Since the whole league loves it for cubs I'm guessing twins win lol

This trade didn't make much sense from the twins side
