TB Rays recieve: Yohander Mendez, Adrian Gonzalez contract paid for
TEX Rangers recieve: Jake Bauers, Joshua Lowe, and a 4th round pick in the initial MiLB draft
The reason the Rangers are happy with this deal: I feel as I need to get younger in the corner infield positions and also recieve a former 1st round pick in Lowe. Bauers has had a great spring and has good OBP and good power potential. I also realize that the Rays are happy with this deal. Gonzalez will ultimately help him compete for that title this year, and having him paid for will allow him to have a deadly infield. I also saw he traded most of his pitchers with upside to the Dodgers and I thought I could help him compensate with Mendez. Mendez will help him this year and ulitmately in the future. It was a pleasure to work with the Rays and it was a joy to go through this process.
