The cost in salary and prospects wasn't too prohibitive and I need a 2B that will actually play. Also, Scooter showed off his prodigious power on opening day and is on pace for 162 homers so that's what I'm expecting going forward.

Little steep for a middle infielder who probably wont see much time in the reds infield. I like Dalbec more than most I suppose.

Scooter pinch hit, he's not an everyday 2B, in fact he'd need like 4 injuries in order to get regular playing time. He's got some utility value, but Scooter isn't even the Reds top bench player. He is a motivated player playing for his favorite team growing up.

Dalbec has a lot of flaws to his game, but is helium. I'm concerned by the value of prospects again, but at a certain point we'll reach a critical velocity.

+15 LAD I'm not terribly high on Dalbec but still.

Jose Peraza is the Reds everyday 2B, not Scooter Gennett. Sure, Gennett will get some playing time, but I wouldn't trade a top 5 prospect within my organization and another prospect for a bench player.
