Mets trade: - Cody Allen, RP, CLE - Bud Norris, RP/SP, LAA
Rockies trade: - Ryan McMahon, IF, COL - Blake Treinen, RP, WAS
I'm trading away two high K/9 relievers who will be good sources of saves/holds for the rest of the season. In return I'm bringing in Ryan McMahon who has been tearing it up at both the AA and AAA levels this year. He is naturally a third baseman, but will probably be moved around the infield once he makes it to the majors because he isn't going to overtake Nolan Arenado. Since I need help all over the infield, I think he's a great fit for me. I'm also taking back Treinen to balance cap for the Rockies.
Good dealing with the Rockies!

This deal works for me as I am in the playoff hunt and saves and K/9 are my biggest weaknesses. I also now acquired a top end closer with a reasonable salary through 2021. It was tough letting McMahon go but it was the only way I was getting a top end closer.

+10 Rockies, as McMahon doesn't have a flawless pedigree and Trienen has had his struggles. Though the same could be said of the return, both closers have been lights out

+10 Rockies. McMahon is far from a sure thing and as Curtis stated Allen is one of the best closers/setup in the game.
