Cubs Send:
P Kyle Hendricks $13,700,000 (2019) (11 Million retained 2017; 9 Million retained in 2018) SS Zack Cozart $4,500,000 (2018) (4,500,000 retained by TEX for 2017)
Reds Send:
P Matt Strahm $600,000 (20XX) P Vladimir Guiterrez 2B Shed Long OF Aristides Aquino
Reds accept. Hendricks is on a team friendly contract even before the cap relief, and provides another high floor arm, even if he doesn't reach his 2016 level of effectiveness, he should be a valuable asset. Cozie gives me an everday SS for this year and next which I don't have at the moment.
While losing Long, Strahm and Guiterrez was tough, the trade off is acceptable for me. Aquino is a wildcard and could end up being the most interesting piece in the deal.
Thanks to Cubs for the trade

Accept. I'm selling off all pieces that won't help me beyond 2018. I've never done a rebuild before so I'm not quite sure what value prospects should have. I feel like I should have gotten Trammell in this deal but there was no way to make it work, and Hendrick's reduced velocity this season has me scurred (He averaged 84 in the most recent start!).

Maybe a +3 Reds for the salary retention on Hendricks, though Cubs sold high on Cozart and I do like the pieces he got back for the most part.

0 looks even to me. Hendricks is such a tough guy to assess right now that's it's hard to say one side had the better deal at this point
